My name is Kylie Pinedo, I’m currently 24 years old and I’m extreamly excited to have you follow my journey.
What I Call Home
I grew up in the small town of Rolla Missouri. It has approximately 20,000 people that live there even though it seems to be growing over time. When I graduated High school I made the leap to move to St.Louis and attend UMSL for Elementary Education. I met this guy (My husband) and he convinced me to move to Dallas TX with him after graduation. I had the opportunity to spend 3 months in China, Graduate, then move to Dallas.
What I Call My Family
My family started with just my mother, father and I. Just like most others. They divorced when I was young and both remarried. Because of that I am lucky enough to be the oldest of 8 children. The oldest is 7 years younger than me and the smallest was born just before my 24th birthday. I met my husband in 2017, engaged 2018, married 2019, and had our baby in 2020! The irony was my mother and I were pregnant at the same time at one point! Along with that, I got 2 bonus babies in the meanwhile too!
What is the Why
When I was younger my father under certain circumstances had multiple pints of blood transfused to keep him alive in the process. I just knew that with out that act of kindness from all of these strangers donating blood, he wouldn’t be with us. I knew from that moment I wanted to make a difference. I started donating blood when I could.
High School is rough for anyone. What’s worse is not making ot far enough in life to see it. My cousin, a week after her 13th birthday was hanging out with a group of people. She made a decision that caused her not to come home that night. My family was discussing Surrogacy, my mother almost carried another child for my Aunt because she couldn’t have anymore. That idea was taken off the table becauase soon after, my mother was preganant. So, the idea was always in my head it would be an amazing experience.
With out an act of kindness I would have never even met my husband. In High School he was diagnosed with an Auto immune disease that would cost him his kidneys. It was rewarding enough to have his father step up and donate 1 of his kidney’s.
This is Me
I’m lucky enough to be surrounded by people that are only here because of the good will of others. I want to live a life full of experiences and I want to help others just as they have helped my family.
Even if I’m not their mom, they are still my people
